Cenote Dos Ojos (“Two Eyes”) is one of the most iconic cenotes in the Riviera Maya, located in the corridor between Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
It’s famous for its crystal-clear water, large cavern spaces, and cinematic ambience—an unforgettable setting for advanced underwater imagery.
Dos Ojos is all about scale and clarity. The cavern spaces feel enormous, the water is famously transparent, and the rock formations create a dramatic, “other-world” mood.
This is the kind of cenote that naturally produces high-impact, cinematic frames.
Because the environment is more demanding, we approach Dos Ojos with a premium, controlled pace—focusing on clean movement, strong lines, and fewer but more powerful images.
Dos Ojos is more demanding than beginner-friendly cenotes. For this location, we recommend clients who are comfortable underwater and able to swim confidently.
If you’re new to underwater modeling (or not a strong swimmer), we usually suggest starting at Cenote Cristalino first, then moving to Dos Ojos once you’ve built solid confidence underwater.
It’s iconic, but more demanding. For first-timers we usually recommend starting at Cenote Cristalino, then upgrading to Dos Ojos once you’re confident.
In the areas typically used for cavern sessions, depth is often around 5 m / 16 ft, with deeper zones reaching about 10 m / 33 ft.
It’s typically around 24°C / 75°F.
The name means “Two Eyes” and refers to two neighboring cenotes that look like twin openings into the underground cavern system.
Yes—Dos Ojos is known for extremely clear water, which helps create crisp, cinematic images.
We don’t recommend it. For non-swimmers or first-time underwater clients, Cristalino is usually the safer and smoother choice.
Clean, elegant styling and flowing fabrics work beautifully here. We’ll guide you based on the concept and the cavern ambience.
Dos Ojos is iconic for scale and clarity. Taak Bi Ha is more “pure cave” with stronger atmosphere and formations. We’ll recommend the best match for your experience level and desired look.
