Tarelle – Cenote Underwater Maternity Tulum
Cenote Underwater Maternity Tulum – A young woman contacted us a few weeks ago. On a Facebook page, she had seen our cenote underwater photos of a black lady, and she had fallen in love with the idea of being able to do something similar.
She didn’t tell us right away that she was pregnant. As usual, we sent our packages, together with all the information regarding our underwater photo sessions.

Before contacting us again, she read everything with great attention, focusing mainly on the differences between the private and public cenote. And, above all, on the time factor.
Whoever contacts us for a quote, together with our price sheets, always receives a large amount of information. We believe that being clear and transparent is very important. And just as we appreciate who is transparent with us when we are potential customers, we think it is correct to be equally informative when the roles are reversed, and someone contacts us because he/she is interested in what we sell.
Among the additional information we provide for a cenote underwater maternity photoshoot, there is the need not to be in a high-risk pregnancy. We also recommend to inform the gynaecologist about the photoshoot and ask if there are any contraindications in place.

But since we live in times where everything is often fast and superficial, every now and then we realize that many do not pay any due attention to what we write to them in our reply emails or our site’s pages.
It was not the case of Tarelle, who focused above all on the importance of the time factor during an underwater photoshoot.
As we have already had the opportunity to write, time is essential to obtain quality photos like the ones we produce. It is essential because we are undoubtedly terrestrial creatures, even if we say that we all come from the water. And being modelling underwater, with our eyes open and a relaxed expression may not be something so immediate, even if not that difficult.
The only difference is time. Some of our models or brides look like tested mermaids from the first moment. Others need a few tens of minutes more.
When Tarrelle wrote back to us, she told us she was pregnant and could not swim. We understood that she had read all of our information and therefore decided to go with the most complete package (in the private cenote), mainly for two reasons.
The first was privacy. Being pregnant, she wanted to enjoy that session without necessarily being surrounded by other people, who would watch her with even more curiosity.
The second was time. Not knowing how to swim, she was aware that she would need extra time to relax, go down and model.
For this reason, she had skipped without hesitation, both the public cenote and our time packages.
It was the best choice.
After the photos on land, we took all the necessary time to make her feel at ease underwater. And everything was more comfortable. In a few minutes, she had gained confidence in her (and in us …).
Furthermore, private cenote has the great advantage of being very shallow. Nevertheless, we always use our complete diving equipment which, even if it is bulky and heavy to transport, optimizes time. Not to forget that it also adds an extra touch of safety to what we do.
As for us, we must admit that of all types of underwater photoshoots, underwater maternity is probably the most emotion-filled. Knowing that a woman, swimming underwater in front of us, has a little fish swimming inside her is a fantastic feeling, which is hard to describe.
Best wishes to the sweet Tarelle and her little girl ;-)
