Mermaid underwater photography – Kathleen and Thomas
Mermaid underwater photography. A ten-year wedding anniversary and an unhidden love of mermaids, was the main reason for this photo shoot.
Kathleen and Thomas are an awesome couple from New Jersey, who have the underwater world as a common love. Spearfishing at Rhode Island is one of his hobbies, being a mermaid, her secret dream, not to mention those three tridents in their family crest.
Nothing better than an underwater shooting with a mermaid tail and pirate hat and wig, for celebrating their Tin wedding anniversary.
It goes without saying how overjoyed we were in having a beautiful mermaid to portray. But it was the first time for us, so we were a little bit concerned on how tricky swimming with a mermaid tail could have been.
Well! With hindsight we can state that the most difficult of all was just wearing the tail on land. Basically you should just sit on a rock leaving your feet dangling in the water. Then all you will need is having somebody which will take care of inserting the monofin and rolling the rest of the costume up to your hip. That´s it.
Nonetheless, being comfortable in the water is more than advisable, basically it’s like swimming with one foot only, even if larger. As benefit – It must be said – the mermaid tail is slightly positive in that it’s, buoyant. So, at the end, just by adding a simple pool noodle, Kathleen could perfectly swim, with no further help.
Being strongly motivated is the most important thing. It’s easy to imagine how motivated she was, Kathleen was a perfect mermaid, continuously supported by that bearded pirate she married ten years ago.
Their intention now is having a photorealistic tattoo, based on one of the images taken with us.
Here are some of them.
