Nizuc Wedding – Elizabeth and Edgar. While corresponding with the bride, working together on the timeline and trying to fulfill every possible expectation, we occasionally get asked to shoot images at sunset, during or after the wedding. This happens mostly when the person is not familiar with the Riviera Maya, still unaware of the fact that the north to south oriented coastline faces east. It means we have beautiful sunrises here but no sunsets (at least, not the sun ball dipping into the ocean).
However, there are some exceptions to the rule. Go on Google Earth and type in “Cancun”. You will be driven to an L shaped peninsula, a 15-mile-long strip of sand that is the hotel zone.
If you look at the southern tip, you’ll see that a short portion of this line is south to south-west oriented. This is where the Nizuc Resort and Spa is located.

It was also the location chosen by Elizabeth and Edgar, an amazing couple from the USA, who got married there, intimately surrounded by a small wedding party.
Shooting with them, from the “getting ready” to the last image, at night on the beach, was a real pleasure for us.
