Ocean Coral and Turquesa wedding – Marie and Mikos
Most destination weddings are celebrated with symbolic ceremonies. The gazebo mounted a few meters from the shoreline and the ocean as a backdrop, make the event incredibly picturesque.
Occasionally the couple instead feels the need to seal their union religiously.
However, each religion has its own codes, which legitimately impose specific requirements.

We once happened to cover up a wedding with a couple that was probably made up of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I say “probably” because it is an intuition since no one had officially informed us about it. But the celebration was held in the gazebo on the beach, like a typical symbolic ceremony.
The same happened with an Orthodox Jewish wedding. Instead of a synagogue, the ceremony was held in the gazebo, mounted by the colonnade of a hotel, a few meters from the sea. The rabbi came and performed the ceremony, including all the fascinating elements of the Jewish orthodoxy.

Instead, the Catholic religion and Canon law require the celebration of a wedding to be held only in consecrated places. Indeed, we have never seen a priest celebrating the rite in a gazebo on the beach.
Except for very few hotels that have their own chapel, if you opt for a Catholic wedding, the only option you will have is to celebrate it inside a church.
And that’s what Marie in Mikos did.

But since they didn’t want to give up the scenography of a ceremony with a gazebo on the ocean, they celebrated two.
The first was held in Puerto Morelos in the parish of San José Obrero, the second one on the beach of Ocean Coral and Turquesa.

The transfer of the approximately one hundred guests was carried out by two large buses, while the bride and the bridesmaids used a splendid limousine.

Amazing amazing amazing!
I cannot say enough about how amazing the experience was with Sebi Messina and his team. From the beginning of the process, Sebi and his team were very responsive to all our emails.
It was very apparent from the initial questions he asked us prior to the wedding, he wanted to ensure he captured all the special moments of our Big day.
The Trash the dress photo session before our wedding was a simply phenomenal experience.
Honestly, we were hesitant at first, and a bit sceptical, but Sebi and his team made us feel super comfortable during the photo shoot, and it turned out to be such a fun and memorable experience.
All our family and friends loved the pictures, and we turned them into our thank you cards. As for the wedding itself, again Sebi and his team did again an amazing job.
They were able to capture all the amazing moments we asked them too, despite a few delays on our part and our 20-person wedding party, we never felt like they were rushing us. Sebi has such an eye for these candid special moments that really showed in our pictures.
By the end of our wedding, we honestly felt like Sebi and his team were part of our family. If you are booking a wedding in Cancun, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t book Sebi and his team!
