Trash The Dress Photography – Nancy and Alfonso
Trash The Dress Photography – Mexico is a huge country and the Riviera Maya is a top wedding destination, even for Mexicans coming from other states. If seen just in terms of flight time to Cancun, Miami is much closer than Mexico City and even flying from Houston takes no more than from Mexico City (2h15).
Furthermore, weather in the several zones of Mexico can be so different, that flying to the Yucatan peninsula from the central or northern Mexico is a trip to the tropics.
That is why so many couples from the rest of the country come here to the Riviera Maya to celebrate their wedding.
And that’s exactly what Nancy and Alfonso did, surrounded by a big wedding party, they got married in Tulum.
We met them few days before their wedding for a Trash The Dress photo shoot. It goes without saying that Nancy did not use her real wedding dress but another one bought just for the underwater session.
And since the water is fresh
And since the water is fresh (no salt, no sand, no dirt), we never get tired of saying that an “Underwater Trash The Dress”, should be actually called “Wash The Dress” instead.
Yes! As our sessions are far different from the description you can find in Wikipedia. There you can read that a Trash The Dress “takes place on a beach but other locations include city streets, rooftops, garbage dumps, fields, and abandoned buildings. The woman often wears a ball gown, prom dress or wedding dress and may effectively ruin the dress in the process by getting it wet, dirty, or in extreme circumstances, tearing or destroying the garment”.
Our sessions do not take place in murky water or ponds or garbage dumps, our setting is the lush vegetation of a cenote and in its crystal clear water. Your dress won’t get ruined or trashed at all…
